Shortly after the very successful launch of the Leicester Tigers website and accompanying app, another club in the form of Northampton Saints approach us to recreate their digital presence too.
In a variation from Tigers requirements, the Saint’s benefitted and needed to leverage the merchandise aspect of their ecosystem, and required us to create a design language that could work across different facets of the club – these being Franklin Gardens and The Foundation.
UI & UX Lead
Using the formula that made Leicester Tigers such a success, and with a better understanding of their business model and KPIs, we worked to create a platform that engaged fans with their content but without the demands of a design which would require frequent news updates to remain relevant would require – given the clubs limited publishing ability.
To balance this, we created more promotional areas for Saints to leverage and new concepts, such as the score predictor, to help increase fan engagement in the build up to match day.
Tim Percival, Marketing & Communications Director at Northampton Saints, said:
“Our aim for the new website is to make life easier for Saints supporters to discover all the latest about the Club, and together we believe we have achieved that.
Saints is committed to improving its supporter engagement and innovation and the new website is the culmination of engaging with our supporter base, listening to their needs and observing their online behaviours.
Throughout the new site, we have harnessed best-in-class technologies to provide improved features like an enhanced online matchday experience and a superior user-friendly design.”
